A New Season

With all the positive changes going on now in New Zealand, and the possibility of actually travelling freely and seeing family and friends that I haven't seen for almost two years since the pandemic. I am looking forward to what this new season is bringing.

One of the things that I am looking forward to through my Community Chaplaincy, are my regular visits to the two Samoan women in care who are not mobile.

Simple things like singing old hymns and laughing and drawing on cultural values of families naturally connects us together and it opens doors to encourage them where they are at.

There has been some struggles being separated from families however, drawing on life's special memories together can mean they feel comfortable at this season of their lives. This brings me joy and a great sense of fulfilment. To see the smile on their faces, the tears of joy and nostalgia.

There is still hope, because life goes on!

God bless!
