A new season! A new milestone!

Thanking God for the journey, and a new era of life beginning... Glory to God!

I celebrated my 70th birthday a week ago with my family and we had a beautiful time. Although I missed out on having a big splash party due to Covid 19 breakout, I thank God that I got to celebrate this milestone with the people I love the most; my sons and their families - at a time when we are all together as a family. I’m ever grateful to you Lord!

In contemplating the question, "Who am I?" I am grateful to realize that my identity is not tied to my relationships, the people I cherish, my errors, doubts, fears, or regrets, nor by my virtuous deeds. I am defined by the identity Christ has bestowed upon me. Romans 12:2 instructs, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God."

Upon reaching the age of 70, I've embraced a fresh outlook and new thinking. It's akin to crossing into a new realm termed 'aging.' This era heralds the onset of new adventures, discoveries, and learning. I am convinced that I can age with grace, acknowledging the reality of age by decelerating, cutting back on work hours, rekindling past dreams and interests, and feeling rejuvenated by engaging in activities God guides me towards. It's an exhilarating prospect!

The following scriptures also mean a lot to me at this time:

For we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
Jesus said, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you." (John 15:16)
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus. Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)

God has a calling on all of our lives. As He was with Moses, so He was also with Joshua. He was and still is "...the LORD who goes before [us]. He will be with [us]; he will not leave [us] nor forsake [us]. Do not fear or be dismayed." (Deuteronomy 31:6-8). He has equipped us according to His purpose and His word promises that "I will never leave you nor forsake you..." Therefore, I will hold on to His promises because, "The one who calls [us] is faithful, and he will do it." (1 Thess. 5:24)

I’m looking forward to meeting that new ‘me’ as God continues His work in and through me."

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I commit this part of my journey to you. Thank you for Your mercy and grace in my life. Help me to remain faithful and enjoy this part of the journey with You.

In Jesus Name, Amen! Comments

The other night as I was pondering about the events of my life that have led me to where I am today, and my conclusion is this it is only God that could have done what he has. My prayer for you is that you will be strengthen in God, and the best is yet to come for you in Jesus and that this season this hour is one of rebirthing, revival and renewal designed so that we can eliminate all the worldly distractions that we once had and turn our focus ,turn our heart, turn our soul back to what really matters and that my friend is to know God and be known by him. A verse that has kept me throughout the struggles of covid-19 is Psalm 91. I love you and am believe for the impossible to become a reality in your life.
