My birthday post

Recently, I offered to pray for two families facing difficult times. One family was dealing with a loved one's illness and struggling to meet basic needs; the other was facing unemployment. A few weeks later, I learned that the mother in the first family gave her heart to the Lord, and the father successfully underwent his operation. In the second family, the father secured a new job. I offered to pray on their behalf because I understand the power of having others intercede for us when we're unable to.

On a personal level, I've witnessed God's hand at work in my own family's circumstances, for which I'm continually praying.

My journey in prayer ministry has been a long and ongoing learning process. I'm deeply grateful for the faithful intercessors—women who have mentored me and guided my development.

Intercessory prayer is about standing in the gap for someone. When a loved one struggles with faith or words fail them, we stand in that gap and offer prayer on their behalf.

Ezekiel 22:30 provides a powerful image: “I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one” (NLT).

Jesus exemplified this when he prayed for the soldiers who gambled for his clothes: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34, NLT).

Intercessory prayer requires understanding—not judging—another person's struggles and being ready to pray when needed. We can pray privately, without the person's knowledge, or we can offer support by letting friends or loved ones know we'll pray for them, acknowledging that prayer can be difficult.

However, intercessory prayer also demands self-awareness of our own weaknesses and struggles with God. This self-awareness allows us to truly appreciate the joy and mercy of having others intercede for us when we cannot.

I challenge you to a #PrayerChallenge: Pray for someone in need today and share your experience in the comments below! Let's see how God answers our prayers and builds our faith together.

God bless you!
